Our Philosophy is for young swimmers to develop a love for the sport, improve aquatic skills, as well as learn about the importance of teamwork and the principles of good sportsmanship. The coaches' philosophy is for the swimmers to have fun as they develop stamina and fitness. 

 The Westgate Swim Team has had a successful recreational swim program for over 40 years (Gators History and records). Our trained, certified, and experienced coaches are dedicated to making swimming fun, while building youngsters' endurance and improving aquatic technique

Bring your own lawn chairs, plates, forks, knifes, napkins, beverages.  

 Our League limits swim meet competitions to 135 swimmers per team.  The League age groups for swim meets age 6&Under Girls, 6&Un Boys, 7/8 G, 7/8B, 9/10 G, 9/10 B, 11/12 G, 11/12B, 13/14 G, 13/14 B, 15/18 G, 15/18 B. Age cutoff is May 31.  Westgate enrolls about 12 swimmers per age group. This allows for absences due to vacations, illness or injury without exceeding the meet limit requirements.  For more information about the team, check the Gator Parent Handbook.
